Marcia (She/Her) works with teens 16 and older, as well as young adults and their families. She specializes in working with college students, especially those experiencing particular issues such as learning disabilities or physical disabilities. She also has expertise in working with women in midlife transition, substance abuse and mood disorders. She completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University in 1991 and since then has supported students at the collegiate level, providing individual counseling, consultation, training and groups. Marcia believes that the relationship between the therapist and client is crucial, and she brings an attentive, warm and directive presence to her work. She sees counseling as an opportunity for clients to examine their concerns, consider options, try various strategies and manage challenges with flexibility and confidence.
Marcia is a former state champion softball player, and coached her son’s hockey teams for many years. She incorporates a lot of coaching strategies into her therapy work and loves to talk about sports. Marcia also volunteers with the New England Springer Spaniel Rescue and can’t imagine a life without pets!
